OMG has no one answered this? Serious? Anyway, the answer is Germany ,on the 30 April 1945,when Hitler killed himself, his wife and children in his bunker. It didn't take long after that for them to surrender!
Axis is the term of Germany, Italy and Japan union in that war. Italy did not last long but the leader Benito named that term.

The American forces new that the Japanese would not surrender easily and they would fight for years. So thet had to use the atom bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaggi. I will explain how long these can fight: these Japanese . A soldier was found in the Philipnne jungle 27 years after the second world war was over, he thought that the war was still on.
On August 9, 1945, the United States dropped an atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Nagasaki, resulting in the deaths of approximately 70,000-80,000 people. The attack was a devastating blow to Japan and played a significant role in their decision to surrender, effectively ending World War II in the Pacific. The bombing of Nagasaki remains a controversial event, with ongoing discussions about the morality and long-term effects of the use of nuclear weapons.

Officially... from 7 December 1941 till their surrender in Tokyo Bay in August of 1945. But, we were supplying the Chinese with flights "over the hump" in 1940. We also helped cobble together the "Flying Tigers"...
For the US, December 1941 until August/Sept 1945. Japan signed her surrender papers in September. Germany signed their surrender papers in May 1945.

The major similarity was the surrender of Germany. The long-term outcomes were completely different.
They were officially in World War 2 6 years but they had started warring back in the 1930s.
Depending on the axis of rotation, it would be either a vovulus (rotation on the long axis) or a torsion (rotation perpendicular to the long axis).
It depends on the country Hitler was demanding surrender from.
We start on the horizontal axis because of tradition. You would get the same results if you started on the vertical axis, as long as you continue to label the horizontal axis as the x-axis and the vertical axis as the y-axis.

The major axis is the axis that cuts, or goes between the two vertices of the hyperbola. The minor axis is perpendicular to the major axis and is an axis of symmetry. If the hyperbola is defined by: x^2/a^2 - y^2/b^2=1 where x^2 is x squared. Then the major axis is 2a units long, and the minor axis is 2b units long.
Officially it ended with German surrender in May 1945. However, given the distrust with which the West and and the USSR viewed each other over the next 44years, I can understand why some people entertain that thought. In my opinion you would be drawing a long bow to say that WW11 did not end until the Berlin Wall fell.
