First of all I want to say how very sorry I am to hear of your loss. When we lose a loved one in death it kills a little piece of us to.

I don't know how your son-in-law died be it from war, sickness or accident, it hurts our hearts. As to why he died, that can be a very complicated answer. I am a Bible student and a Bible teacher so I will try to answer you from The Bible without giving any opinions. Some of this you my be familiar with but please bear with me.

Our first parents, Adam and Eve, were created perfect, with no defect in mind or body. Furthermore, God placed them in a lovely paradise home. God purposed that man would live forever and that in time the earth would be filled with his perfect offspring. (Genesis 1:31; 2:15) Why, then, do we die?

God commanded Adam: "From every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction. But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die." (Genesis 2:16, 17) So eternal life for Adam and Eve was conditional; it depended upon their obedience to God.

However, Adam and Eve disobeyed God's law.

They became sinners and "the wages sin pays is death." (Romans 6:23)

The Christian Apostle Paul wrote: "Through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned."-Romans 5:12

So we all are under the penalty of death and it comes in innumerable ways. Death can be the result of time and unexpected events that overtakes one. "For man does not know his time. Just as fish are caught in an evil net and birds are caught in a trap, so the sons of men are ensnared in a time of disaster, when it suddenly overtakes them" (EC 9:12).Old age, sickness, and accidents reap a regular harvest. Crime, violence, and war add to the misery and grief.

Yes it is a terrible thing to lose a loved one but we need not think that all is lost and give up hope. God's word promises "God "will wipe out every tear from [our] eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."-Revelation 21:4.

At Acts 24:15: "I have hope toward God . . . that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous." This is not a fairy tale or useless wishing. These things will happen, so do not worship the god who "wanted another Angel"Worship the God who can and will put our loved ones back in our arms. I hope this gives you some small comfort.
