Well after reading a bit about slavery in Aristotle's "Politics" I came to have a different understanding for it. If you separate yourself from what you know about the atrocities committed under the name of slavery and think in philosophical terms, there is a way to justify it. I'll answer you're question with a question: Would you think it is OK to have a slave if to achieve both the slave and master's goal it is their advantage to have this symbiotic relationship? Aristotle contends that a slave and master can be friends. I go over this stuff a bit better on my blog at http://www.thephilosophizer.com I hope that provides you with at least a different viewpoint
network of people?? i don't know what you mean by network of people but Harriet Tubman helped the slaves be free!! is this an ok awnser?

Yes Being that slaves where people they do think. They thought about freedom.
Landowners during the time of slavery often justified owning slaves by citing economic benefits, social norms, and religious beliefs. They argued that slavery was necessary for maintaining their economic prosperity by providing cheap labor. Additionally, they believed that it was a social norm that had been practiced for generations and accepted by society. Some landowners also used religious justifications, citing passages from the Bible that seemed to support slavery.
People have slaves because along time ago, nobody had money. So the masters of the slaves treat them badly to get 'money' Ok. I'm in 2nd grade so, sorry if its wrong.

Yes, African people are still slaves, there are people that control people that are not that powerful, because they think that just because they have more power then the other people, they think that they can control them, so you always have to remember that African people are not then only people that are slaves, in other countrys there are slaves too. Alway REMEMBER, that there are MANY slaves around the WORLD. :) Thxx :)
Abolitionists are individuals who advocate for the freedom and emancipation of slaves. They believe that slavery is a violation of human rights and work towards its abolition. Prominent historical figures such as Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, and William Wilberforce were all abolitionists who fought against the institution of slavery.
A slaver bought or sold slaves. They could get money and wealth from it, and it was considered OK to do.
The North had less use for slaves than the South did, and many Northern people helped slaves gain freedom.
No, Christians do not think that it is OK to kill people for working on the Sabbath as it says in the Old Testament of the Bible.
The Europeans bought africans as slaves in the middle ages, and people think that slaves are almost lower than human. Its very sad, but it happened so long ago, and people are forgetting this.
I think you mean the Abolitionists. These were people who wanted the compulsory emancipation of slaves.
