1. people wer sick of republican rule, the presidemt Hoover was trying to get them out of th depression but his plans were very weak. FDR promised a 'New Deal'. no one knew exacly what it was but it brought them hope. he worked for the working class and the poor, the people who needed the most help.
2. he was a good, reassuring speaker. he WA different from other presidents, he was funny and friendly, not strict and authoritative like the others
3. he had suffered too, having contrcted polio and losing the ability to walk. to show he wasnt weak he tried to pretend he could walk, but his suffering did give him a better understanding of the sufferings of the American people.
2nd election
1. although there was much criticism by groups, the majority of people had been helped and still loved roosevelt.
2. he was reassuring and freindly.
3rd election
1. the war had started, the presidential election wasnt something that was so importnt nymore. they felt reassured by Rooselvelt so voted for him again
2. he had almost got them out of the depression, maybe they could get them out the war

1. America were in the thick of war.Rooselv elt wqas somone thet trusted so tthey stuck with him
2. he was very ill at this time, but put up a very good act. he was reassuring and he had good plans after the war was over to bring back prosperity.
