Some people supported the Vietnam War because they supported America's resolve not let communism spread. The Cold War policy of America was still in effect during this time.
At the end of the Vietnam War, Congress refused to support South Vietnam any longer.
Critics of American involvement in the Vietnam conflict, including Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., considered it unjust and immoral.
commie pinko scumbags
Some people do.
American support for Taiwan The Vietnam War
The United States Government truly did not support the troops it sent to VietNam. They never allowed the military to bomb the ports in the North where the weapons were flowing in from Russia. Our own government had NO idea of what we were doing there and why they sent us there.
Of course! Everybody has to fight the Vietnam War because they wanted to stop the Battle and they have to show some guts to fight in the Vietnam War.
cause they look like elethamts and have big butts
Some people were against the Vietnam War because young men were being drafted to fight in the war.
Some "construction workers (hard hats)" made the news during the war, supporting the fighting men in Vietnam; some muscle was used during this support.
That is what was said for the reason to go to VN. However, that is truly NOT the reason we went there. We went there because President Kennedy's successor as President was an ignorant poor soul who lied to the American people. Recall that on the 1963 campaign trail he stated : "I will never send American Boys 10,000 miles away to fight a war that Asian Boys should fight for themselves". LBJ was a complete Liar: A terrible Man in so many ways. He was a useless Commander in Chief who had no idea how to fight the VN War to win, and win quickly with the fewest casualties.
Politicians yes (they funded it); People no, they had to fight it.
