Because the taxes were the main trick to gain money for the British and clear their debt which was from the French and The Indian war
Britain imposed the stamp & Townshend acts to help pay for the French & Indian war and Regular British army troops stationed on the Nortwest Frontier.
they protested it cuz they did not want to keep paying taxes for some stupid paper and they did not want soldiers up in their house!
so the colonists would have to pay taxes on everyday items... that made the colonists angry, so they started to boycott.
External Taxes :D
The colonist were not being recognized in parliament and no longer lived in England...........basicly the wanted a better goverment. The King was unfairly taxing the colonist which meant that they were loosing money to the king and becoming poorer.
Taxes on Tea
The Townshend Acts, The British Government called for new taxes in 1776. SO Parliament passed the Townshend Acts. The Townshend Acts said that the colonist had to pay taxs on all tea, paper, glass, lead, and paint imported from Britain. SO basically the Townshend acts made people pay taxes on certain items, people hated the new taxes and they could not afford them. So The Colonist Buycotted the tea (refused to buy it) Which lead to other events but that was mostly all about the townshend acts taxes boycott which i think it lead to the tea act all taxes where off exept for the tea.
Britain took away most of their natural rights as citizens by putting taxes in all of british goods that they buy
The colonist said that the Britain had no rights to tax them.
These taxes were examples of taxation of the colonists who had no representation in Parliament.
External Taxes :D
The Boston Tea Party.
jvytc rf
Parliament repealed the stamp act as a response to the colonist protest.
Patrick Henry spoke to the House of Burgesses. The Sons of Liberty was formed.Colonists boycotted British goods. The Stamp Act was passed.Take your pick ;)
Crispus Attucks, a runaway slave, related to the protest over taxes because he led a march of a protest during the townshend act. Crispus was against this act.
The Townshend Acts applied duties (taxes) to paper, paint, lead, glass, and tea imported by the colonies. Townshend had studied the colonist's distinction between internal and external taxes and he believed his duties were external as none of the products, except tea, could be made in the colonies. The colonists did not agree with his thinking and the result was a colonial boycott against British products. Trade between England and America fell off by 50 percent as a result of the boycott. The British merchants complained to Parliament who repealed the Townshend Duties except the tax on tea.Because he would'nt make colonists pay for soilderssBasically, the Britain put taxes on tea, glass, led, paper, and in some placessugar, but the colonist got mad and that is basically what is is...... Sorry icant help much =(to pay services in the coloniesthe townshend act was started in order to avoid various problems of the stamp act. The new taxes only applied to imported goods when the stamp act applied to internal taxes, the colonist refused to pay the stamp act tax, terefore the townshend act was started-Suzy T.
Because they were sick and tired of paying taxes.
The Townshend Acts required the colonists to pay taxes without their consent. This taxes were placed upon the Colonies by Britain. The colonists were perturbed over these taxes, resulting in such things like the Boston Tea Party in attempts to rebel against these taxes.
