They were taking foothold with the peoples of the new land, trying to become the dominant faith within the colonies (the early bird gets the worm so to speak, they had to get in before the protestants). So essentially the reason was money, land and power.

.

Catholic AnswerThe primary mission of the Catholic Church is salvation and evangelization. It was what the protestants refer to as "the Great Commission", when Jesus told His infant Church to go out into the whole world preaching the Gospel and baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. There were pagan souls in these lands, and that is what the Catholic Church has done for 2,000 years, following Her Lord's Command.

The "Catholic Church" is a huge, world-wide organization made up of thousands of particular Churches all over the world. Every particular Church is called a diocese, and is headed by a Bishop. In many instances, a particular Religious Order, like the Society of Jesus, or the Franciscans might send missionaries into a newly discovered land, or with an explorer, but this is not exactly the "Catholic Church" doing it: for the Catholic Church to make a decision, it would have to be the Pope in Rome, and he very rarely makes those kinds of decisions. In that case of America, it was the Franciscan Order that arrived with the first explorers (from Europe). Many years later, different Orders from many different countries send priests and sisters over here to care for the Catholics who had immigrated to the Americas for one reason or another, OR they came over to minister to the natives. Either way, I do not ever remember THE Catholic Church sending people to America.

The Catholic Church is the Mystical Body of Christ, and is under an imperative, from God, to spread His message of salvation to all people living, as this is the only normal way in which they can attain salvation; thus they are always interested in taking the faith to those who have no yet heard it.

Is there a God in Roman Catholic?

It's just Catholic, not Roman Catholic. Roman is an epithet first commonly used in England after the protestant revolt to describe the Catholic Church. It is never used by the official Catholic Church. If you are asking about the Catholic Church, then, of course, the God of Israel send His only Son, Our Blessed Lord, Jesus Christ, to earth to save us from our sins. Catholicism is nothing else but Judaism fulfilled.

What is the Catholic Church about?

The Catholic Church is the largest Christian denomination, and is based upon the worship of Jesus Christ. It is run by the Pope and has an elaborate hierarchy, and many churches, monasteries, cathedrals, and other buildings around the world. It is very complicated..AnswerThe Catholic Church is the Mystical Body of Our Blessed Lord, Jesus Christ. It was formed from the side of Christ as He hung dead on the cross and a soldier pierced His Side with a lance, and blood and water flowed out. He assigned St. Peter as its first Vicar (see St. Matthew 16:17-19, based on Isaiah 22, and send the Holy Spirit to guide it always. The Catholic Church is all about bringing people to God, and God to people, it is very simple, It is the Body of Christ, It is the Love of God for His people, It is God offering salvation to mankind. It is NOT a "denomination", it is the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church founded by God.

What did the western roman-catholic church believe was the head of the church?

Because the West is where the successor to St. Peter is, and Catholics believe that the Successor of Peter is the Vicar of Christ and supreme head of the whole church..Catholic AnswerBelieve it or not, there is no "western Roman-Catholic Church", It's just Catholic, not Roman Catholic. Roman is an epithet first commonly used in England after the protestant revolt to describe the Catholic Church. It is never used by the official Catholic Church. Nor is there a "western" Church, the Catholic Church is universal, and most of the Eastern Orthodox Churches are only composed of half of that rite, the rest are still Catholic. .Regardless, the head of the Church has always been Our Blessed Lord, Jesus Christ. He founded the Church before His Crucifixion as His Mystical Body on earth and appointed St. Peter and his successors as His Vicars on earth. So the visible head of the Church is the successor of St. Peter, the Pope in Rome.

How is the Roman Catholic Church described by Daniel?

Roman Catholic AnswerGod sent the prophet Daniel several visions and prophecies, mostly to interpret dreams of the king. But as he lived six hundred years before Our Blessed Lord established the Church, and God did not send him any visions regarding the future Church, it would have been impossible for him to describe the Catholic Church. Some of his visions are remarkably similar to the book of Revelation, and some heretics see the book of Revelation as referring to the Church.

How does Roman Catholic Church fail to fulfill their purpose?

First off, it's just Catholic, not Roman Catholic. Roman is an epithet first commonly used in England after the protestant revolt to describe the Catholic Church. It is never used by the official Catholic Church. . Secondly, the Church's mission is to "continue the works of Jesus Christ" and to make his name "known and loved." As the Catholic Church is the Body of Christ, and as it was commissioned by Our Blessed Lord Himself, on the apostle Peter; further He send the Holy Spirit to guide the Church until the end of the world. Thus, it cannot fail in its mission, we as fallible human beings who make up the Church can impede or help this purpose either by following God and cooperating with His Will, or we can frustrate it to an extent through our personal sins. But the Church as such is divine and cannot fail of its purpose.

Is Roman Catholic the true church of God?

It's just Catholic, not Roman Catholic. Roman is an epithet first commonly used in England after the protestant revolt to describe the Catholic Church. It is never used by the official Catholic Church. The Catholic Church is the only Church which was founded by God in person. He arrived on earth in the person of His Son, Our Blessed Lord, Jesus Christ, who proceeded to found His Church (which He called MY Church) on the Apostle Peter (read St. Matthew 16:17-19), He then guaranteed that It would remain until the end of the world (Matthew 28:20), and He send His Holy Spirit to guide (John 16:13) and watch over it until then. He promised that It would only be One, and would remain. Thus, the answer to your question is yes.
