they chose the area in which they settled in because they wanted somewhere they can be open to good resources and they also thought by settling there they were going to have much more power and so they can earn more respect.....
Cause they had hope for a bether life also known of (the American dream). It were lands there that wornt toucht and grrerat for the farmers so everyone got rich on this.

The Toronto area was first settled by European settlers in late 1700s. In 1793 the Town of York was founded. In 1834 the Town of York was incorporated in to the City of Toronto. So depending on the settlement of Toronto is either 216 years old or 175 years in 2009
