Why do you rely on roman writers like pliny for much information about Celts?
Before Christianity reached the Celtic lands, The Celts transcribed their history orally, much like the Greeks. This is not, as many people believe, because the Celts could not write. They had just as much of an alphabet as the Greeks and Romans. They mainly used writing for menial purposes, such as coinage. They, however, believed that an oral tradition was more worthy of their stories. Professional Poets, known as Bards, would memorize the stories and traditions of their people. Most of these stories were lost, because of the Roman conquests, and those that survived have been altered, because Catholic monks saw some of the content as blasphemous and pagan. Thus, we rely greatly upon the Roman and Greek writers for information on these ancient people.
What were some of Greek and Roman influcences?
Greco-Roman influences are still seen today in several areas. In many instances the Greeks came up with the idea and the Romans adapted them to be practical. In the political field, the Greeks, or more properly the Athenians, came up with the idea of democracy which worked okay for Athens. The Romans agreed in principle with the Greek democracy, but found that it needed revisions in order to be practical in Rome. In architecture, we still have the columns, mostly Greek, but many of our public buildings have the Roman dome. In language, there are specialized vocabularies in law, medicine and science which rely heavily on either Greek or Latin, or both. Also, many of our common everyday words have Greek or Latin origins.

Yes they did mainly because that was all that was available at the time. There is also evidence to suggest that placebo effect was being used.

Its not that I rely on it. Its that im always on a cellphone computer tv... ex... But i know that my brother relys on his inhaler is he coughs once. I rely on a calculator cause i suck at math but, to be honest alot of people rely on technology.
