A ghetto was a part of a city, especially a slum area, occupied by a minority group or groups. The Nazis, in WW2, force Jews, and others they considered as undesirables into such ghettos.
Because the the entity was a ghetto and they housed Jews.
to hold the Jews until they finished building the death camps
to kill jews and put them in concentration camps and also to hold them until they finished building the death camps.
Before the Jews were in the concentration camp, the Nazis built a wall around their neighborhood called a ghetto. After this, the Nazis deported Jews to the camps.
Ghetto
They were taken from the ghettos to extermination camps, where they were killed.
They were forced into ghetto's set up especially for them
When it was founded in 1940, 400,000 Jews were herded into the cramped ghetto. About 100,000 died in the ghetto from disease or starvation; many more were shipped off to various concentration and death camps.
decrible jews ghetto
The Jews were moved into the new extermination camps. That is why they lived in the ghetto. The Germans only built the ghettos because they didnt have means of the transportation to take the Jews to the camps they saw it as a way to temporarily solve the Jewish "problem". They were taken to extermination camps and killed.
From the ghettos they were marched to railway stations, forced into cattle trucks and transported to extermination camps, such as Auschwitz II and Treblinka.
ghettos and camps were two different things.
