The Mongolian Empire was subdivided into four different Khanates by Kublai Khan. Each of these Khanates had its own unique government and fell at different times.

Chagatai Khanate: 1687
The Khan, Genghis Khan's son, died as they reached Hungary meaning that the army had no leader, which lead to revolt and so the empire collapsed.
The Mongolian Empire declined because of over-expansion and constant warfare.
