The Roman Empire remained at peace during the reigns of Nero and Caligula due to its superior army. Caligula wanted to make an invasion of Britain, but it would have taken too many troops away from the always rocky German border. Nero had three military problems that were solved by his excellent generals. One was the uprising of Boudicca in which Paulinus was the victor, another was trouble in the Middle East in which Corbulo was the victor, and another was the Jewish uprising in which Vespasian was the commander.

Roman emperors.
Three Roman emperors.
Tiberius, Caligula, Claudius, and Nero
Mainly because the army was strong. Caligula inherited a strong loyal army and maintained it. Nero also had a strong army and good generals. Even though those two emperors may not have had an ideal personal life, it's no reason to think that they didn't keep their eye on political and foreign situations.
Caligula was a boy. He was the 3rd emperor of the Roman Empire.
The Roman Empire
A:Like all the Roman emperors before Constantine, with the possible exception of Philip, Caligula was a pagan.
If you consider the first hundred years the early Roman empire, there were four emperors during that time span who were unpopular and murdered. They were Caligula, Galba, Vitallius and Domitian. Other emperors were murdered, such as Claudius and possibly Tiberius, but not because they were unpopular, but because someone else wanted their job.If you consider the first hundred years the early Roman empire, there were four emperors during that time span who were unpopular and murdered. Julius Caesar, Nero, Caligula, Titus.
The main Roman emperors were Julius Ceasar, Augustus, and Nero.
The first Roman emperor was Augustus. However, there were more than 65 Roman emperors. Up to the fall of the western part of the Roman Empire there were 91 emperors. The eastern part of the Roman Empire continued to exist for nearly 1,000 years after the fall of the western part and there were further 81 emperors. There were also 7 emperors of a short-lived breakaway part of the empire which historians have called the "Gallic Empire."
