Why did the Supreme Court decide the Second Bank of the US was immune from taxation?

The Supreme Court held that the Supremacy Clause (Article VI, Clause 2), which elevates federal law above state law when the two are in conflict (and do not involve a right explicitly reserved to the states) protected the bank from being taxed by the State(s). Chief Justice John Marshall declared the states couldn't tax the federal government.

How rich someone in the "Tea Party" movement is doesn't affect how legislation can be legally passed to make it so that billionaires couldn't be taxed. If Congress passed a bill that stated that people making over a billion dollars are immune to taxation, then it would take affect, but the salary of a protest movement's member(s) has nothing to do with making a person immune to taxation. This "answer" doesn't even pretend to answer the question which could be answered with statistics if they exist. It was an honest question which deserves an honest answer.
