As to the question of why the Twin Towers fell "like a demolition?" is first that they only fell similar, but not the exact same. The similarity is because controlled demolition of buildings is based on the laws of physics wherein gravity forces objects to the ground, and once the vertically stacked floors are set in motion, momentum keeps them going (Newton's 1st law of inertia - paraphrased as 'a body in motion tends to stay in motion'). When key supports of a building are blasted, and removed simultaneously, the weight of each floor collapses on the floor below.

In past centuries, people were used to seeing building "fall" sideways in earthquakes, or by demolition equipment knocking them down until the weak structures fell over. Think of how many times experts or amateurs have witnessed Airplanes flying at high speeds directly into a tall building, and cutting through a cross-section. Never! So how is it that so many arm-chair experts are making the comparison? The huge commercial jet basically does the same thing that controlled demolition does, only slightly slower.

When each plane entered their respective Towers at the World Trade Center on 9/11/2001, the sheer momentum of the plane's body and wings cut through a considerable amount of support in that area, and weakened the structure at those floors. Once on the interior, an explosion from the flames igniting the fuel (as seen when the second plane hit the South Tower), caused a tremendous blast that further damaged the interior structure like a bomb going off. The following 56 to 102 minutes of jet fuel spreading and burning all flammable objects on the several floors where the planes entered, including the burning of the plane itself, and all of its contents, intensified the heat. With all of these things burning rapidly in a relatively enclosed environment caused enough intense heat to weaken the integrity of the few remaining supports in key areas on those floors. Once a single floor collapsed, the weight of every floor above it slammed down onto the next floor below, which was far too much weight, and impact force for those supports to handle, thus creating a chain reaction floor by floor, gaining mass, speed, and momentum with every floor.

As an example, watch a Martial Art expert smash through 10 or more solid slabs of concrete in a stack. Each slab is separated by about a 1 inch spacer. The only way that a human hand of flesh and bone is going through the concrete is with a rapid acceleration of applied force. If the cement were stacked directly one on the other, they might not break more than three or four. However, with each slab breaking individually, and crashing down upon the next slab, ten or more slabs can fairly easily be broken. All you have to do is get the first one started.

The impact of the planes crashing (1), combined with the initial explosion of flame to fuel (2), followed by intense heat of jet fuel, and all the materials in the offices burning rapidly (3) caused enough high temperature, like a blow torch (more-so than under normal circumstances of a controlled burn), resulting in the remaining supports of one or two floors giving way. Take a close look at the South Tower falling first. The structure has been weakened at one corner more than the others, and the top of the building tips in at a considerable angle before it collapses the floors beneath.

The official story is that heat caused by burning plastics and jet fuel weakened the floor supports, part of the base support structure of the building, causing them to fall in a pancake like (domino) effect into each other.

Please note however that JTP8+ (Jet Fuel) only burns at 800F in open air, Plastic burns at slightly less: each of these less than 1/2 of the temperature needed to 'heat stress' the steel used in the WTC construction: heat stress is 1/2 the temperature of the steel.

The un-official story(s) point to large discrepancies, and inaccuracies in this official report coming to the conclusion that it "must have been an inside job" and or "controlled demolition" that caused the towers to fail.
