smallpox hit the capital city which killed millions of Aztecs .the disease has often been given as a major reason for conquest

also, they did not disappear. they just were forced to learn spanish and are the modern day Mexicans

There are several reasons why this ancient civilization dissapeared. Like a balloon, the mayans rose powerfull and than popped (Fell). Aztecs discovered their mighty citys empty. Many people believe that they left because of the myth of the great tree, or a powerful earth quake. All we know is they are now diminished tribes and clans in the Amazon river valley's vast jungles...
