The pilgrims were a group of people in England and Europe that were persecuted for their religious beliefs. Knowing that others had found America, they set sail in their tiny ships, trusting God to get them here safely. Here, they were able to practice their religion freely. The right to do this still exists, today, thanks to the US Constitution.
