die Kartoffel - potato Also, one who farms potatoes would be a "Kartoffel Bauer"
if a species population were exactly the same with no variation then it die out. for example in Ireland during the potato famine, they grew the same potato that all the potatoes got infected with something that wiped out all the crops. Another example if every human had the same immune system then a disease could wipe out the entire human race. So if we where different then the species itself would have a better chance of surviving
No, potatoes form the staple diet of many countries. However the potato plant (the green bits) is slightly poisonous and a potato left in the sun to go green is not good to eat.
the thing that happens to cells iin potato's during cooking is the cells get burned out and die:>
YES!! The potato famine changed life completely!! The events that happened during the potato famine were the government kicked the people of Ireland out of their houses, so they were all pretty much living on the streets, So the people of Ireland decided to take what were called coffin ships over to Toronto!!!* they were called coffin ships because soo many people would die on these ships because of hunger desieses and soo on. So they came to Canada ,and they lived in cabbage town in little shanty houses with like 3 other families per house. And A LOT of them died , because the conditions were so bad and everybody was dying of hunger!! ~ Dylan!!
Except for the toxic green parts of potatoes, and airborne bacteria that can cause food poisoning, potatoes are not generally lethal. A raw potato in the sun will slowly cook but also dehydrate and shrivel. It is not the healthiest thing to eat, or the most tasty, but seldom life-threatening. The most likely result would be intestinal gas from the undigested parts of the potato.
