Women were not allowed to vote. They usually could not get higher education. Often, they could not get jobs, and when they did, they got paid less than men for the same work. They could not own property, in many countries, including England, for a while. In some places, if they had money and got married, the money became the property of their husbands. They women's right movement started because they were sick of the unfairness.
There is a link below.
The Women's Rights movement either started the same time or during the Absolutism movement (The movement to end slavery) and it started by women thinking hey we are fighting for African Americans freedom what about ours so they started the women's rights movement. And on July 19 and 20 the men and women from the absolutism movement and men and women just from the women's rights signed the Declaration of sentiments which contained 18 charges against men, some use of the Declaration of Independence and 100 signatures including Fredrick Douglas
One of the causes for the women rights movements was the unfair treatment of women at the time. Women were always put down and were treated like slaves at the time. They would clean and take care of their children and that was about it. Their husbands would beat them up, cheat on them and think of them as property instead of an actual human being. Another reason why is the fact that women were unable to vote, in the constitution, it states "we the people", not we, as in men , but WE as a whole union. Women wanted that right to vote and fought hard to get that 19th amendment.
it stated when women were not able to have the same rights as men. it stated when women were not able to have the same rights as men.
Women formed the Rights movement because they wanted the same rights as men. Like voting, fighting in war, and so on.
Women everywhere in America got every equal right that men got.
