How many tribes were there in makkah before the mageration of hazrat mohammed?

There were several tribes in Mecca at this time. Archaeology shows that the city of Mecca was first built around the year 200 C.E. According to local legends, the indigenous tribe was the Khuza'a. Other tribes that later settled in Mecca were the Quraysh, the Bakr and the Hilal. All of these tribes still lived in Mecca in Muhammad's time. Around 440, the Quraysh ousted the Khuza'a from the dominant position and gained control of the city. The Quraysh were of course Muhammad's tribe, and they were still politically powerful - the "nobility" of Mecca - when he was born in 571. The Hilal, though lacking political power, were wealthy and might be considered the "bourgeois" tribe. The Khuza'a and the Bakr were merely respectable. The Bakr supported the Quraysh, who were their patrons; but the Khuza'a harboured a lot of latent resentment, and eventually supported Muhammad against the Quraysh. Mecca was a city of immigrants, so there were a few people from nearly every tribe in Arabia. Most, though not all, of these immigrants were the poor labourers and servants of the native tribes. The other group of people who might be considered the "working class" of Mecca were the freed slaves, who usually remained attached to their former masters as "vassals" or servants. Some semi-nomadic tribes could also be found on the outskirts of the city. The lowest rung of society was the slave population. Slaves could be from any tribe or foreign country, and were often Greek, Persian or Abyssinian. N.B. There are legends, not supported by archaeology, that Mecca was founded by Abraham about 2,000 years before the Khuza'a arrived. These legends claim that Mecca was inhabited by a tribe called the Jurham, who disappeared from Mecca when the Khuza'a fought them. It may be true that the Khuza'a fought other Bedouin tribes in the generations before Mecca became a settled city.

Who must the Muslims fight before returning to mecca?

Ever since Mohammed successfully besieged and conquered Mecca, Muslims have not needed to fight anyone in order to get to Mecca. However, prior to this, the Muslims fought the Qoreish Tribe and other Meccan Tribes in the 620s C.E. for the right to pray in Mecca.

How was Mecca different from other Arab trading cities?

Mecca - The city of Mecca grew in a well-protected valley at the crossroads of two long-distance trade routes. The routes stretched north and south between Yemen and the Mediterranean, as well as east and west between the Persia Gulf and the Red Sea. Travelers quenched their thirst and watered their animals at Mecca's fresh water well. The founding of Mecca - Muslims believe that the founding and settling of Mecca is related to the story of Abraham and his son, Ishmael. According to Islamic teachings, Abraham and Ishmael built a cube-shaped shrine called the Ka'bah about 4,000 years ago. Islam teaches that Abraham was commanded to build the Ka'bah as a house of worship and a reminder of Abraham's firm belief in one God.Ka'bah - Worshipers honored the Ka'bah and over time placed idols in it for safekeeping. They honored the gods in it by performing religious rituals. Although the Arab tribes still considered themselves to be descendants of Abraham, they introduced the worship of idols to the Ka'bah. By A.D. 500, there were more than 360 different idols in and around it. There were even some Christian pictures placed there. A tradition continued of visiting the Ka'bah and walking around it.The Quraysh - The Quraysh, a local tribe, settled in Mecca sometime before A.D. 500. Their role as keepers of the Ka'bah gave them great prestige and helped them to make treaties with neighboring tribes. This ensured the safe passage of caravans during the months of pilgrimage (a journey to a sacred sight) and travel. The treaties prevented fighting and raiding during this time. By A.D. 500, Mecca had become the most successful trade center in Arabia, prospering from the flow of merchants and pilgrims.

What are the results of the Conquest of Mecca?

Many people converted to Islam. Additionally, as Mecca was the only power-center in Arabia other than Medina, it meant that there was no longer any serious reasons for the other tribes to resist the Islamic Armies. This lead to the entire Islamicization of Arabia (which was eventually completed by Caliph Omar when he exiled Arabian Jews and Christians).
