Iraq had the fifth military troops and equipment when the Iran-Iraq War has ended, so a large proportion of the population are armed, and it is has a strategice site in the Middle East, many countries in the region have interest in Iraq like Iran.
US did not decide about it. US came to Iraq for stay, not for leave. actually US was forced to leave Iraq, not intended to leave Iraq. so US did not have any plan for what will happen after leave. Shia Muslims themselves are more political and have more power in Iraq. Well that is not what happened! The US Military took over Iraq and defeated the Military that was controlled by the Sunnis. After the USA defeated the Sunni Military they disbanded the Sunni Military. If the USA had left the Sunni Military in power they the Sunnis would have controlled Iraq, but the USA disbanded the Sunni Military and Sunni Government and allowed the majority Shii take over. WHY DID THEY DO IT! Saudi Arabia and the majority of Arab governments are Sunni controlled and you can bet they were not happy with the Bush Administration and the USA allowing the Shia taking over Iraq and bolstering Iran that also has a Shaei government! Why did the USA put a Shia government when they could have left Sunnis in power?
Iraq.
Mesopotamia is in Iraq, I would need to know from where you are going.
Iraq is on of the richest countries in the world in oil. America comes to Iraq to take the oil. Iraq is a country that carries billion and billions of money and that comes from the oil the American want to take
The distance between Kuwait and Iraq (to each other's capitals) is 347 miles. You can go by road - would take you 1 hours to enter Iraq from Kuwait City. In the pedantic sense, as Iraq and Kuwait border each other, you can go from Iraq to Kuwait by simply standing on the border and stepping over, so it would take virtually no time to go from Kuwait to Iraq.
Iraq invaded Kuwait in order to take over their oil supply. The U.S. and many other nations were afraid that Iraq was going to use their resources to raise the price of oil around the world
You need have no fears. ISIS or any extremists will never take over the world. Many have tried, many which much more power and influence than they have, but none have or will ever succeed.
he was not a very good leader all he wanted was power and to take over land that wasnot his and to take control of the oil population. He used chemical weapons to remove Kurdis people from their villages in northern Iraq and 5,000 women, men and children died.
with power
No. The United States wants to provide the Iraqi's with a working goverment, an infrustrcture, an economy, a strong military and security forces, and a way to decide there own future under a Democratic Iraq. The United States has no want to stay in Iraq or Afghanistan.
iraq
Iraq as an independent nation (since 1923) has never successfully taken over Iran. Iraq's incursions into Iranian territory during the first part of the Iran-Iraq War (1980-1982) occupied less than 5% of Iranian territory. However, there have been empires based in Iraq that have conquered Iran such as the Abbassid Caliphate and Ilkhanate in the 800s-1300s.
