It could be to tease her. It could be that she is the type of person who only has crushes on one person at a time, and cannot understand how a person could have a crush on one person and yet 'like' another guy on TV. If she is aware that you have a crush on her friend, she may be trying to get you two to get together.
Crushes on celebrities or people on TV are fictional, fantasy relationships, and aren't supposed to be compared with real life relationships.
If you were in the room at the time it makes a big difference.
