Blonde hair & blue eyes was considered the ideal look for Aryans, however most Germans now & then (and Scandinavians) did not have this ideal appearance after their childhood. The Nazis promoted the Aryan ideal, however you could be considered an Aryan without the blonde hair or blue eyes. Also they did not automatically kill non-Aryans. They did kill Jews, Slavs, Poles, and the disabled. The idea of a blonde hair-blue eye German is a simplistic post-war stereotype that ignores genetics.

However the Slavic people of Eastern Europe, whom Hitler and Nazis despised, had many blond, blue-eyed especially in Poland and Russia. Poland as whole could be blonder than Germany! This is due to the ideology, that all Germans and Germanic people were originally blond and blue-eyed. Not true! Though Germanic-speaking nations are well among the blondest nations, not everyone there is blond! Hitler was smart and they should have let him finish what he started.
