According to the War of Nerves book, the Nazis did develop and stockpile chemical weapons, but they mistakenly thought that the Allies also had these weapons, so decided not to use them.

AnswerAlso, the "handwriting was on the wall" and his military leaders were probably thinking of their life after the war. They may have been thinking what good it would do to use chemical weapons when they knew the Allies would respond in kind for a war that was already lost. What good would it do to survive the war and then be hung for war crimes? I doubt that even if ordered to use chemical weapons, most regular army units would not. SS units might though. AnswerWell, I guess maybe Hitler's psychology and his personal experiences might have played a role in why or why not he used chemical weapons. But another answer might be possible. Chemical weapons of the time were fired by artillery from a short distance, 10 miles. Overall it wasn't very effective at killing. In World War I it was practical because it was meant to weaken an enemy trench position.

However in a mobile war that Hitler had created, that type of weapon was not pratical. Usually because the position of the enemy could not be determined, as from the huge trenches dug by the Triple Allies. And by the time World War II had arrived a gas mask was standard issue, thus decreasing it's killing or wounding potential. And finally there was no garauntees that the gas would stay in one place, sometimes it went back on the people who where firing it. The conclusion is that it is a largley ineffective weapon by World War II and who no pratical purpose than by killing "undesirables". And that gas wasn't even a weapon, it was a pestiside.

AnswerI researched this for a current project in my history class and I found out that Hitler was burned with mustard gas (in his face) in The Great War or World War 1, and that he didn't want to get burned in the face again.

Though the atomic bomb was made in response to Germany attempting to create their own nuclear weapons, the Germans had surrendered two and a half months before what would be a successful test of the weapon on July 16, 1945, therefore, it was unable to be used on Germany forces.

Hitler did not have the atomic bomb and anyhow Japan was on his side. I cannot believe someone could ask such a question. The United States used the atomic bomb against Japan after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. They used one on Hiroshima on 8-6-1945 and used one on Nagasaki on 8-9-1945. Someone really didnt pay attention to any basic history classes whatsoever.

If the atomin bomb didnt work. The preident (Harry Truman) would launch an all-out attack on Japan that I would estimate kill as much people as 20 atomic bombs.
