Okay, the Minor Canon was some sort of clergyman and was an extremely scholarly man, he wore specs in the cartoon I saw. I saw this thing around l964 and it didn"t make sense, I did not know what a Minor Canon was and thought it might have been a type of artillery officer, which he was not ( not that type of Cannon). It was a weird sort of cartoon with, impressingly for the time- a Middle East background. I guess he was some sort of -well archaeological student as well. Dinosaur bites are bad for business, and attacking a cleric that"s a No No.! so it goes.
The griffin didn't eat the minor canon in the short story "The Griffin and the Minor Canon" by Frank Stockton because the griffin was charmed by the sweet music played by the minor canon on his Flute, and it inspired feelings of peace and friendship within the creature. The bond formed between the griffin and the minor canon ultimately led to a harmonious coexistence.
Yes
he didnt
The Griffin is a legendary and mythical creature that is a lion and eagle hybrid. Five questions you can ask about a Griffin are, what are they? What is their purpose? When did they first appear? How can you defeat a Griffin and finally what do they eat?
It has been depicted as attacking a stag, which may be a clue.

A Griffin is mixed with both a lion and bird of prey, therefor it probably eats meats and fish.
