It was believed that the fourth plane was heading for the White House, but there is no definite proof that it was. It is only a theory that it was supposed to crash into the White House.
The plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. Nobody knows why it crashed exactly, but there are theories:
- The terrorists lost control of the plane and crashed
- The passengers and crew fought back against the terrorists and either lost control themselves or forced the terrorists to crash to stop the plane being retaken
- Conspiracy theorists claim it was shot down by the USAF. There is no evidence to support this (ie there are no debris from air-to-air missiles at the crash scene).
