what you are asking is why cobalt is more dense than boron. You will have to ask a higher power than I. But I will do what I can. atoms are weighed in AMU Atomic Mass units. Atoms are measured in angstroms. so an atomic density is the relation of angstroms the atom fills(volume)to how heavy it is(mass). Oh, and the mole is a very large number of atoms or molecules so that these really small weights and sizes become tangeable a.k.a. cubic inches, ounces, pound, cubic yards. Now why is there a difference in density of these substances... well they have more or less protons, neutrons, and electrons. Not to mention different arrangement of the electrons causes a different size. I hope that helped.

Does one mole of NH3 weigh more than one mole of H2O?

The mass of NH3 mole = its molecular weight = 14 + 3 x 1 = 17 The mass of H2O mole = its molecular weight = 2 x 1 + 16 = 18 This means that one mole of NH3 weigh less than one mole of H2O

How many atoms of cobalt would there be in a 2.2-gram sample of cobalt?

Cobalt is an element. If you know the mass of the cobalt in question, then you can divided by the atomic mass (58.93 g/mole) and find the number of moles. Then multiply by 6.023 x 10^23 (atoms/mole) to find the number of atoms.
