The United States of America was founded on the principle of SELF-government and liberty. The Constitution of the United States permits the Federal government few and limited powers; the individual citizens aren't generally limited in the details of their lives.

Ronald Reagan was the first president in a century to actually BELIEVE in the Constitution, and the majority of the people supported him. Where other politicians have promised European-style cradle-to-grave welfare (Roosevelt) or a "Great Society" (LBJ), Reagan's philosophy of LIMITED government and lower taxes resonated with the Real Americans.
