Why do Americans love Abraham Lincoln?

People admire Lincoln because they liked what he did to stop the civil war. In order for Lincoln to stop the civil war he had to free all of the slaves in the confederate states to get the border states to side with him. Those states were Maryland, Delaware, Missouri, and Kentucky.

Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves in the realm of the United States of America, which demonstrated exemplary triumph. There is a lot about this man that should be admired, the altruism especially.

He guided the country through very dark times, and held to a higher hope and purpose for the country. His words live on today, especially the Gettysburg Address.
