Australia are in the Asian Conferation because the OFC confederation was proving to not be much of a challenge, e.g. 22 nil over Tonga and world record of 31 nil over American Samoa, proved why we needed to move to the asian confederation, so Australians can face challenging opposition such as Japan, South Korea etc.
The only hard opposition we had in the OFC was New Zealand and thats it.
