It is usually a myth that any breed of animal is "mean". Just like people, animals have their own distinct personalities, and some are meaner than others. Dogs are mean because they are trained to be mean or are exposed to predominantly aggressive behaviour and other aggressive dogs. Some older Chihuahuas do tend to become quite snappy, but the Chihuahua as a breed is not mean. Some dogs from any breed will be lovely, and others will be snappy and aggressive - it depends on the indivudual. Chihuahuas are not mean. Like many breeds they are protective of their masters. They are great house dogs and companions. === === I have seven chihuahuas and they are all the sweetest most loyle dogs i have ever owned. If you get a chihuahua 1 out off 7 is your chance off getting a barky one my chihuahuas are angles. please get a chihuahua
Chihuahua's bite so much because their owners make them that way. Owners will almost always pick up their dogs and hug and shield them from the world. So the dog sees the person or animal that is approaching them as a threat and is stuck in between protecting itself and its owner. The best thing to do is the have you chihuahua walk or in a situation that might make you nervous( because the dog will be able to feel that through the leash) you pick up the dog and hold it in what is called the neutral hold. The neutral hold is when you hold the dog at your side by you waist with one hand. then the dog is still exposed to everything around it but has been moved out of harms way.
Some dogs are nice, and some are mean. It all depends on how their owner is. For example, if a Poodle's owners are mean and are always grouchy then that Poodle might be like his/her owner; but if you have, a Poodle who has been raised in a family who's owner is nice and kind than the dog might be. its the same dog just different living enviorments. It also depends on it the dog (while is was a puppy) was able to meet other dogs and people. its social life.
Mean chihuahuas are normally the ones that get everything they want and are spoiled rotten. If they don't get what they want they will resort to violence to try and get it.
It is mostly the owners fault for treating it like a baby instead of a dog, even though it is hard not to treat it like a baby.
Usually it is because a human phsically abused it.
Chihuahuas bite sometimes because they get afraidand then there reaction is to bite.
not if you don't bother them
No. Their mother will try to bite if you try to take them, so don't
Well if they were to bite, they are not tall enough to reach much higher up (unless you were holding one at the time).
kus their scared of bigger dogs :)
The chihuahua death bite is the bite to the ankle area that causes massive arterial bleeding and usually death. It is used by chihuahuas in only the most dire circumstances. The historical record going bACK TO aZTEC DAYS RECORDS ONLY SEVERAL INSTANCES WHERE A CHIHUAHUA HAS USED this last line of defense. Several times in the southwest USA chihuahuas have used this as well. Most notably, raindeer chihuahuas use this horrible and blooduy method.
Chihuahuas don't like spit at all, actually. They hate it so much. I think they hate spit so much is because they think it's water, plus it comes out of your mouth, which disgust them. I have a Chihuahua myself, so I know. Hope this helps.
Most all chihuahuas bark to much.
Yes, provided the person's hand isn't insanely calloused or neurologically damaged.
Maltese's are wonderful dogs to have! Chihuahuas are too very smart but they do have an attitude and if you catch them on there bad day they WILL bite. I had like 20 chihuahuas and all of them like to bite hard. But since it's a mix i say if it takes after the Maltese it will make a wonderful dog :)
My parents bought our chihuahua for around $500. He is a purebred chuhuahua and is not a teacup so I would not know how much teacups are.
Not really, they bark a lot and, if threatened they could bite. Other than that, they are very fun.
