Christians believe about The Bible that it is inspired by god and go gave us a message to the world.

:

Most religions with a "Holy Text" believe it was given by or inspired by the deity they worship. It establishes their bona fides. In addition to Christians, Moslems believe the Quran was dictated directly by an angel to Mohammed and Mormons believe the basis of their texts were delivered directly by an angel to Joseph Smith. Even Buddhists, although they don't regard their texts as holy, believe the Buddha's discussions are recorded accurately in the Sutras.

Christians believe the Bible to be inspired for a number of reasons:

1. The Bible itself claims to be inspired.

Following on from this since Christians believe in God:

2. The Bible is inspired because God is its author and has inspired both its production and preservation.

3. Some Christians would also understand that there is a great deal of evidence which supports the above claims. It is debatable whether this is in the realm of belief or evidence and proof.

4. Christians note the overall unity of the book and point to this as a being the result of its being inspired over the centuries by the one mind.

5. Christians also find that the Bible shows evidence of divine inspiration through its insights into human nature and its solutions to human problems. The idea here is that God knows man because He made us and so He understands what our ultimate problems are and how to fix them.

6. Fulfilled prophecies, hundreds of them, (particularly the many which relate directly to Christ) point to a divine author who gave knowledge of the future to His prophets who recorded, in some cases hundreds of years in advance what was going to happen.

The Bible contains the word of God to guide us in our daily lives. To follow the guidance of the Bible is to be saved by grace, redeamed by confession of our sins, and try to live a life without sin. The message contained in the Bible is Holy. The Bible as a physical book is not Holy.

Because Christians feel the Bible is God's word.... a letter from God to his followers, providing our history, instruction, discipline, encouragement and hope.

*Psalms 119:105 says: "Your word is a lamp to my foot and a light to my roadway". God's word, the Bible, helps us to walk safely every day, and lights up our future so we can see where we're going. Though this verse was written before Christ came to earth, it's meaning hasn't changed.

*Romans 15:4 says that 'All things written aforetime were written for our instruction, that through our endurance and through comfort from the scriptures, we might have hope". The Bible, whether the Hebrew or Greek scriptures, were written for ALL of us. To instruct us, comfort us and give us hope.

*2 Timothy 3:16 says that 'ALL scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work". The Bible equips us for just about anything in life. Somewhere in it's pages there will be a law or a principle that addresses nearly every life experience. It teaches us not just WHAT we should do, but HOW to do it. HOW to please God. How to express love to our neighbor. How to be a friend. How to judge what's right and wrong. HOW to LIVE successfully and happily. HOW to live forever.

So, Christians love the Bible as a gift from God which provides healthy guidelines by which to live our lives.

Answer 1:

He gave the inspirations to great people to write the book

Answer 2:Christians give some of the following reasons why the Bible is inspired by God.

1) Countless prophesies and its later fulfillment: Only God can accurately prophecy these events in history in advance.

A. Few examples of prophecy about nations:

a) Prophesy about the nation of Israel [Israel will be scattered around among the nations (Deu 28:64, Zech 10:9; Eze 12:15-16), will remain without king and worship for long years (Hos 3:4), will come back to their land (Deu 30:3-4, Eze 11:17, Zec 10:9) by air and sea (Isa 60:8-9), their country will be rebuilt (Amo 9:11; 9:14-15) and the nation of Israel shall be prosperous again (Isa 27:6, Isa 51:3)]

b) Prophesy about Egypt [Egypt will never rule over another nation (Eze 29:15)]

c) Prophesy about Medes two Centuries before it happend [Medes will over throw Babylon and the conqueror's name will be Cyrus (Isa 13:17; Isa 44:28)]

d) Prophecy about Babylonian city 60 years before it happend [The Babylonian city of Tyre will be scraped and never built again (Eze 26:4-5, Eze 26:14, Eze 26:12). Alexander the great tore down the walls of the city and buildings and used the rubble to build causeway to nearby island. The city was literally scraped and the fishermen dry their nets on the bare rock site of the old city today].

e) Prophecy about Babylonian and Israel [Babylon will rule Israel for 70 years (Jer 25:11-12)]

B. More than three hundred fulfilled prophesies about Jesus Christ from the Old Testament:

Born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2 - Mat 2:1; Luk 2:4-7), Born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14 -Mat 1:21-23), Performed miracles (Isaiah 35:5-6 - Mat 9:35), Lived a sinless life (Isaiah 53:9 - 1 Peter 2:22), Died for sins (Isaiah 53:8 - 1 Cor 15:3), Hands and feet pierced (Psalm 22:16 - Joh 20:20, 25), Piercing His side (Zechariah 12:10 - Joh 19:34), Lots cast for His clothing (Psalm 22:18 - Mar 15:24) and Rose from the dead (Psalm 16:10 - Mar 16:6)

2) The Word of God came directly from God:

a) GOD Himself wrote (Exo 34:1, Deu 10:2)

b) God commanded the people to write His word [Example - Moses (Exo 17:14, Exo 34:27, Num 33:2, Deu 31:19); Kings (Deu 17:18); Isaiah (Isa 8:1, Isa 30:8); Jeremiah (Jer 30:2, 36:2); Habakkuk (Hab 2:2); Paul (1Co 14:37, 1Ti 1:1); JOHN (Rev 1:11; Rev 1:19; 2:1, 8, 12 &18; 3:1, 7, 12 & 14; 14:13; 19:9; 21:3-5]

3) God preserved His Book throughout centuries even when many tried to destroy His word: Examples - Dead Sea Scrolls, Jer 36:28, Psa 12:6-7, Mat 24:35.

4) The unity of the Bible: Though written by more than 40 different authors from different continents, circumstances and languages over 16 centuries; the Bible is one unified book with one rule of faith and the plan of salvation. (Any one can write one book or claim a revelation and we cannot prove it or disprove it as this one person claims credibility. This is the case with many religious books like Quran, Bhagavath Geeta, Book of Mormons, etc).

5) Drastic change of a person by the message of the Bible: Killers confess and become life savers, terrorists becomes the messengers of love, drug addicts become good citizens, proud becomes humble, greedy becomes generous, liars become truthful and the list goes on.

6) Honesty of the writers and the actual representation of the Biblical figures: Both good and evil character of an individual is described without hiding anything.

7) Scientific foreknowledge in the Bible: Examples include - Visible things are made with invisible things (Heb 11:3); Chemical nature of human body is same as of dust (Gen 2:7, Gen 3:19); One blood for all humans (Act 17:26); Life is in the blood (Lev 17:11; Deu 12:23); Infection is spread by microorganism that is not visible (Num 19:14-17; Lev 13:45-46); Stars are innumerable (Gen 22:17; Jer 33:22); Heavens cannot be measured (Jer 31:37); Earth hangs on nothing (Job 26:7); Mountains and deep valleys exist on the ocean floor (Jon 2:6); Earth is spherical [ Isa 40:22, Pro 8:27. Psa 103:12 and Ecc 1:6 The wind goes toward the south, and it turns around to the north; it whirls around continually; and the wind returns on its circuits. (East and west are infinite in a sphere but north and south repeat itself)]; Hydrogolical cycle (Job 36:27-28; Evaporation into air and condensation into the earth); Bible mentions dinosaurs ( Job 40:15-24 and Job 41) and God commanded Abraham to circumcise new born males on eighth day (8th day is the only day the amount of prothrombin that causes blood coagulation is above 100% under normal condition. Ref: S.I. McMillen, the renowned medical doctor who authored None of These Diseases, (1963, p. 21, emp. in orig.)

It strengthens faith to believe scriptures such as the Bible are the word of God, and for that reason Clergy teach that this. To realise that scriptures were written by ordinary men, often more for political reasons than theological ones, would leave faith without clear foundations. Many Christians would falter if they believed scripture is not the word of God, because there is nothing else to justify their belief
