It's a premonition of their loved ones dying.

Dreaming of dead loved ones is a natural part of the grieving process. It can take longer for the subconscious mind to accept the finality of death than it takes the conscious mind, and dreams can be a way of bringing that loved one back as well as a way of working toward acceptance of the loss.
