Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) stopped using the cross as a symbol of their faith in the late 1800's. It slowly faded out of their culture, but some Mormons still use the cross as a personal symbol, (in homes, on jewelry, etc) but it is just not used on things produced by the Church.
The reasons why the cross stopped being used vary, the biggest of which was that Mormons did not want people to mistake them for a Protestant or Catholic denomination. They are Christian and believe that Jesus died on the cross, but don't want to be identified as Protestant or Catholic.
Secondly, Mormon doctrine focuses on the life, atonement, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, they do not want to dwell on just the crucifixion, but the entire life of Christ. For this reason, rather than put crosses in their buildings, they put paintings of the life of Jesus Christ.
Another reason is that Mormons believe that the cross is a sacred symbol which should not be used casually. Mormons are encouraged to avoid casual use of the cross on things such as clothing and accessories. A simple cross necklace is acceptable, but a loud, large jewelled cross 'bling' is not.
Of the 13,824,854 members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) worldwide, 7,785,947 live outside the United States. That's 44% of Mormons and 2% of all Americans. But you can find Mormons in nearly every nation of the World!
