The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" church) teaches what and how they teach because that is what they believe to be true and how they believe it should be done.

The Church has an all-lay ministry, where everyone in the congregation has a specific duty to help the church run smoothly. By having the members teach and lead each other, not only does everyone learn more about the gospel, but they learn more about themselves and each other. They also learn leadership and teaching skills, patience, service, and humility. It encourages everyone to learn for themselves whether the gospel is true, rather than have someone tell them.

Within a congregation, the leader (the Bishop) is simply a man called out of the congregation by local leaders for a period of a few years. (the local leaders were similarily called by area leaders) Each Sunday, a few members of the congregation are chosen to lead the congregation in prayer and give sermons. Each member of the congregation will have a 'calling' or responsibility, such as teaching Sunday School, Youth Groups, Men's or Women's groups, etc. They will serve in this capacity for a few years and then will rotate callings with other people in the congregation. Nobody is paid for their service, they just all work together to keep things running smoothly.

What is the role of Mormon religion in America's society?

The role of Mormons today in America's society is be a good examples to everyone they meet. Teach our children, family members and friends by example to be morally strong, honest people. Mormons don't proclaim to be perfect but we do know what is right and wrong. This does not mean we always do what is right because we make mistakes too. Again, our role is to teach and live our lives in a way that we show love, and humility to the society.

Why are all Mormons liars and yet not all liars are Mormons?

This question is based on an incorrect supposition. Not all Mormons are liars; most Mormons are not liars.

Why are Mormons more concerned about image than about being Christ like?

While it is true that some Mormons are more concerned about image, you will find this with any religion. The teachings of the LDS (Mormon) church teach that you should not be concerned about image but be Christ like and live as Christ would want us to live. There are many Mormons who follow this and try to live Christ like lives and would not care about how the world sees them.

Do the Church of Latter Day Saints teach polygamy?

No. The Church of Latter-Day Saints officially banned polygamy in the 1800's when the concept created much debate among the Mormons (another name for those who are affiliated with the Church of Latter Day Saints). However despite this ban many Mormons practice polygamy still. In Utah, about 60,000 Mormons practice polygamy (5% of the Utah Mormon population).

Is it true that if you grow up outside the Mormon religion you'll never make it to heaven as the Mormons teach?

There are no facts on what happens after death, if heaven exists there or not. If you believe in it you believe in it. The Mormons can be right or they can be wrong. Clearly other religions would not agree with them.As for what Mormons teach regarding this, the answer is NO. Mormons believe that as God loves all mankind, He wants to allow as many as possible to return to him and live with him in heaven. They believe that a huge majority of people will go to heaven, and only a very small part will be damned. They also believe that people may accept the gospel of Jesus Christ after death, before they are judged. In fact, the whole reason Mormons build temples is so that they can be baptized for those who have died. They believe that if they are baptized for someone who is dead, that person will have the opportunity to accept the baptism and and be saved.
