Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) believe that the curse given to Ham for revealing his father's nakedness in Genesis 9 was dark skin. Ham's children then went on to populate Africa and Arabia. Mormons do not believe that modern African or dark-skinned people themselves are in any way cursed, but that their black skin is the result of a curse on their common ancestor, Ham.
Similarly, Mormons believe that the Native Americans have dark skin also as the result of a curse on their common ancestors the Lamanites, found in the Book of Mormon. This does not mean that modern-day Native Americans or Africans are cursed, only that their distant ancestors were.
People of all races are welcomed with open arms within the church and all are treated equally. The Book of Mormon says that the Lord "denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remembereth the heathen; and all are alike unto God, both Jew and Gentile." (See 2 Nephi 26:33)
We must be careful about the wording of this statement. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) do not believe that black people are cursed. They believe that black skin came as the result of a curse on one of their ancestors.
In Genesis 9, Ham, the son of Noah, uncovers the nakedness of his father and is cursed by God. Mormons believe that this curse was dark skin. It is generally accepted by all Bible scholars that the decendents of Ham were the Libyans, Egyptians, South Arabians, and East Africans - all of whom have darker skin. A similar curse takes place in the Book of Mormon, in which the wicked Lamanites are cursed with dark skin. Mormons belive the Lamanites are the ancestors of modern Native Americans.
Just because Mormons believe that black skin is the result of a curse, they do not believe that those with dark skin today are cursed. Dark skin means only that their ancestors recieved dark skin as the result of a curse.
Uncertain what this question means. It's difficult to think of any tools that Mormons don't use. In fact, the toolmaking company Black & Decker is headed by a Mormon.
Because you know how magnets work.
Mormons didn't used to allow that for black people, but I think they wanted people to convert to their religion, so they changed things. As more people become aware of the origin of the mormon religion (fake magic rocks), people are leaving that religion fast.
Would you like to be cursed? I didn't think so.
no -Another Answer- Mormons believe that all mankind are the children of God. Even Joseph Smith loved and had compassion for black people. At one point Joseph even sold his wife's favorite horse to give money to a man so that he could purchase his slave son from his "owners". He had compassion for them and loved them as a brother.
they think we cool
i think the black people did
Some myths say so (personally I think they're men who were cursed to take the form of a wolf, I don't think they're witches)
They want to kill them
of course not, that would be silly to think that!
The shrine of Hericine i think
