Answer-2

They do so because they have been Commanded by Almighty Allah to keep fast during these hours. Muslims having attained the age of 15 years must keep fast provided they are not ill, or insane, or travelling long distances when it is diificult to keep fast. They keep fast from a little before dawn to sunset. They don't eat, drink or touch their spouses that results into sexual urge. They also avoid any unnatural, unethical, immoral activity, though all these activities are forbidden in Islam all the time. However extra care is taken to attain Taqwa and piety during the month of Ramazan. The Shias keep fast 10 minutes earlier and break it ten minutes later than the Sunni Muslims.

The month of Ramadan/Ramazan is one of 12 months in Islamic calendar. During this month Muslims should fast during days; this is an Islamic duty to obey command of God in Quran for many reasons inducing purify the soul, physical health, understanding poor people, nearness to God at hungry state and other reasons. During the remaining eleven months, Muslims eat throughout the day, just as non-Muslims do. according to Islam Ramazan is the month of God and Muslims are guest of God at this month and this month is the best opportunity for spiritual nearness to God and meeting God. at this month the doors of heavens become open and spiritual meeting of God by intuition is much more easier than other months.
