In my case I have a 1999 SL1 and the clicking sounds where the relays for the electric door locks. I removed them and I have not have the battery drained. I have not replaced them yet.
Bad Battery: the clicking is the starter solenoid relay making contact but the battery is not putting out enough amps to turn the starter
Its because your battery is "dead" OR your battery terminals aren't making good connection to the battery post they may need tightening
sounds like a flat battery get a battery charger or jumpstart it with jump leads
That is not a question.
A clicking sound, when trying to start the engine, indicates a dead battery or poor (dirty) battery or starter relay connections. The clicking sound is the starter relay(soleniod) not getting enough power to hold it's contact points together.
A clicking sound when you turn the key could mean your battery is dead. It could also indicate the starter is going out.
If your car makes a clicking sound when you try to start it, try to jump the battery. If that starts it, check the electrical system and if it was the battery, replace the battery. If jumping it does not fix it, have a mechanic look at it.
Well first check and see if the lights will turn on. If not you probably have a dead battery. If it is making a weird clicking sound it is probably the starter.
Likely the battery cables are corroded but the battery is fine. If the battery is good and your getting a clicking sound there likely that ...green corrosion... if you peel the rubber back off your terminals you will seee it. Don't waste money by not making sure the battery is dead first.
your battery is gone flat by the sound of it
A clicking sound when you try to start the car is a dead battery. It may be that the alternator is not charging it properly.
