Does hemoglobin have proteins?

Hemoglobin is an iron-containing protein. Hemoglobin contains a hemo prosthetic group that has an iron atom at its center. When the iron is bound to oxygen, the hemo group is red in color (oxyhemogoblin), and when it lacks oxygen (deoxygenated form) it is blue-red.

Why is blood in red colour?

Blood is not always red. The colour is dependant on it's exposure to oxygen. If there is oxygen in the blood it has a red colour. That is why whenever you bleed your blood is red, because it reacts with the oxygen in the air. When there is no oxygen in your blood though, your blood has a blue colour.

Why are blood cells are red?

Red blood cells contain hemoglobin, an iron-containing molecule that binds oxygen. As with rust, the iron compounds turn brighter red when the hemoglobin absorbs oxygen. The blood in your veins are blue. Red blood is red because the color of oxyhemoglobin is red because there is iron in oxyhemoglobin, causing that blood red color.Red blood cells are red because the iron in the heme group of the four hemoglobin proteins react with oxygen (think what color rust is) to produce a red color.

What color blood cells bring oxygen to cells an take carbon dioxide away?

The Red Blood Cells remove wastes from your cells.

Why is blood color bright cherry red as it enters from the heart to the different parts of the body?

Because it is oxygenated blood When the blood is oxygenated it means that the iron atom (hemoglobin) of erythrocytes has carried the oxygen. The hemoglobin combined with oxygen gives red color to the blood. Some animals has another atom in blood which is able to bind to oxygen for example octopus blood contains copper which binds to oxygen and it gives the blood a blue color. Why is human blood red?

Because of the presence of hemoglobin in our blood.Human blood is red only when it is oxygenated, meaning oxygen molecules have bound to hemoglobin in the red blood cells after the blood passed through lung tissues. Blood where no oxygen is bound to the hemoglobin will be blue in color.Inside the body, blood leaving the lungs is bright red because it is freshly oxygenated. Blood returning from various parts of the body to the lungs will be blue because it is is devoid of oxygen.Blood from a cut or wound is always red because oxygen in the air binds with the hemoglobin.

If an astronaut died in space in a crash of some kind and he was bleeding would his blood be blue or red?

the blood is always red . The red colour of the blood is caused by an iron compound hemoglobin. neither in earth nor in space hemoglobin could suddenly turn blue so the blood of the bleeding astronaut will always be red

What color is lizards' blood?

Why some anymal has blue blood?

Some animals (like horseshoe crabs) have blue blood because they use hemocyanin carry oxygen to their tissues instead hemoglobin like we do. The copper in the hemocyanin makes their blood appear blue.
