Two possible reasons:
They are operating normally and just squeak, this can be fixed but most shops will charge for a complete brake job.
Or
They are worn out.
because it have sound energy
The word "halt" contains the vowel sound /ɔː/ as in the word "thought."

Brakes using friction halt or slow down mechanical motion.
He was told to halt at the barriers. We must halt the flood of immigrants!
Bullet trains are stopped using a combination of regenerative and friction braking systems. The regenerative braking system converts the kinetic energy of the train back into electricity, while the friction braking system uses brake pads to slow down the train. This combination allows for efficient and controlled stopping of the bullet train.
It sound suspiciously like "halt still" in an east German accent.if this is correct then it is translated 'keep still" or "don't move"Confirmed by the link below !!
Braking in a moving vehicle is applying the brakes to slow or halt movement, usually by depressing a pedal. The braking distance is the distance between the time the brakes are applied and the time the vehicle comes to a complete stop.
It is out!! Also the 9th book ('Halt's Peril') is soon to be out! I'm excited as this is my favourite series!
"She saw the ghostly presence and a shudder ran down her spine" "He stamped on the brakes and the car shuddered to a halt"
Halt!
Anti lock brakes contain a spin sensor in each wheel. When the sensor detects that brakes are still applied and the wheels are skidding a valve opens and lowers the brake pad pressure until wheel spin is detected again. This process is repeated until the car comes to a halt in the shortest distance. The repetition rate of valve operation can be up to 30 times a second.
