In any interpersonal relationship, conflict is inevitable.
In a work environment, often two people will both feel that the other person has no right to make assumptions or requirements. At other times a casual remark, often made in jest, can result in a disagreement.
As we become more familiar with co-workers, we start to see their flaws, and if the actions caused by those flaws end up conflicting with YOUR flaws, there will be conflict.
In terms of an old adage: "familiarity breeds contempt."
It was true hundreds of years ago and it is still true today.
