Dog's are very complex animals and are capable of experiencing complex emotions. Dog's can sense when a loved one has passed away by your emotions and can experience a deep sadness and feeling of loss as a result of this. This would be why they are grunting. It's just the way they are showing their mourning, just like humans do, it just sounds a little different. You should comfort your dog during a difficult process like this, it can be scarring and confusing.

Why your dog randomly went after a dog in the dog park whens shes never been aggressive before?

This is why it's so important that ALL breeds of dogs should be trained with their owners to listen to commands. I only have to make a grunt, or whistle if I want my dogs to do as I ask. It can save their life and it can safe them from injury or another pet from injury. You should be the boss! Get yourself and your dog into training! Dogs can dislike other dogs just like humans can dislike other humans. For some reason humans feel dogs are simply dogs and could care less one way or the other. Your dog could feel possessive of you and doesn't want another dog around you. I have a 16 lb. Cockapoo male that is like this and I have gone into training with him. Now he listens to my commands and that's the way I like it! Makes life much easier.

Why do dogs stop to smell every thing that smells like another dog?

Dogs learn about other dogs through the scent they leave. Similar to when people talk to other people, dogs convey messages through scents. A dog that smells another dogs urine, can learn if that dog is male or female, if they are in heat, what the dog's temperament is, if they are healthy or sick, etc.
