As a rule of thumb, a Dogs nose should be moist. If it is dry then there may be several reasons behind it. For example, it could be because of dehydration, change in weather, Allergies, or because of underlying medical problems. The solution is to regularly apply a nose balm or a wax such as the Pup wax from Puppington's. There are many Dog Breeds such as the huskies that tend to have drier noses, especially during the winter to prevent them from getting cold. one can even apply these balms on their nose as most pet huskies live inside our homes and in warmer areas.

∙ 12y agoWhen a dog has a wet nose it means it is hydrated. Because when it drinks its nose gets wet. The nose however is a very particular area. A dog is still hydrated when its nose is smooth and moist but when a dogs nose is dry and the skin is stressed they are dehydrated.
