They have a lamella. A lamella is a thin plate-like structure, often one amongst many lamellae very close to one another, with open space between. Aside from respiratory organs, they appear in other biological roles including filter feeding, the traction surfaces of geckos, and chloroplast membranes where high permeability is important
A dabbling duck (the Mallard, is one example) upends in water to reach weeds growing underwater. It doesn't drown as it floats on the surface, even when upended. The duck's plumage is oiled and waterproof, so it doesn't get soaked. Not all duck species dabble (upend). There are species of diving ducks that dive under water completely, as the name implies.
Ducks are waterfowl (birds) and need to breath air.
They hold their breath.
The penguin can swim the longest underwater. The penguin can swim the longest underwater.
Yes, they can. They cannot breath without lungs
Ducks don't have teeth. Their bills on the inside has severed edges to grab bugs and underwater weed in the water.
Ducks go in water and do duck stuff either with family or without.
Some kinds can actually swim underwater, such as ducks and geese. Other kinds of birds bathe in water and can put their heads briefly under water.

In Florida in the US we call them coots. Not sure if this is a proper name or just local lingo.
It seems that nobody really knows yet why ducks swim in circles. However, observing their behavior lead me to believe that ducks swim in groups and in circle in order to agitate the water beneath and bring up closer to the surface the algae and plants that they feed from. Another explanation is that it signals a change in the weather. From watching ducks on the Boise River, someone noticed that this happens when rain or a significant (10 degrees Fahrenheit or more) change in temperature is forecast. But this could be coincidental, of course. Or it could confirm that ducks eat more and stock up energy when they sense that a change in the weather is imminent.
