Most are depressed, feel worthless, are bipolar, feel unimportant, etc. The style often correlates with self harm, and vice versa, however, as most trends or behaviors, the stereotype does not hold true. Some are truly depressed with good reason, some are cringe-worthy with no reason to do such a thing, and some are only in the style because they like it. Not all emos self harm, not all self harmers are emos.
Not all emos cut themselves, most of the people that self injure are what you would call normal, but just because these 'normal' people suddenly start listening to different music and wearing darker clothes, everyone calls them emos, when the're not. It's just because they've started behaving differently from everyone else, that's when they suddenly get labeled as emo, and because of this, every emo is also labelled as a cutter.
Some individuals who identify as emo may engage in self-harming behaviors, but it is not accurate to say that all emos engage in self-harm. Self-harm is a complex issue that can affect people from various backgrounds and subcultures. It is important to address mental health concerns and support individuals who may be struggling with self-harm.
Yes. There are emos that self harm, however, not all self harmers are emo. Self harmers are not greatly prone to any specific appearance of person, however emos are given the strong stereotype that, if they are emo, they MUST be self harming. This is not true. The class smarty, the popular guy on the football team, the emo chick in the corner, the average in-style guy... They can all be self harmers.
No, But REAL emos almost always cut themselves. Some don't, but only a very few.
Emo's are just a likely to die as the next person. If they self harm (not all emo's do) to a certain extent then yes.
No because if your a wanna be then you think emo is cutting your self its enot (well some emos do but you dont have to) some people do that because their under steerse or w/e but they are other ways to not cut your self and feel better so all you emo that cut your self sont just find a better way that you wont hurt your slef!!!!
Well, it depends on what you write. I have seen Emo pictures where Emos have written things like "death" and "suicide" on themselves. If you do that, people might think of you as Emo, but Emos are most known for being emotional and for self-harm. E.g. cutting themselves
Emos? Cause we do.
By using objects to create pain, or drawing blood out of yourself. Self harm is used to create "relief" from social/mental problems, by gathering your negative emotions, and taking them out yourself. (self harming/slitting wrists is a form often used my "emos"). There are also less common way to self harm such as burning or hitting, or even breaking your bones.HOWEVER self harm is NOT an effective way to treat any problems you may have. However effective this method may seem at the time, there will always be consiquences. If you have any issues, talk to ANYONE, and it is sure to help you with your worries.SELF HARMING CAN KILL.
They are said to self harm, because they are suposedly quite deep dark people, who express themselves. But practically no emos self harm, they either say they do for attention, or people asume they do. I have nothing against emos themselves, im sure they're very cool people. But i definitely don't agree with the whole 'emo' cult. They could quite possibly be offending those who suffer from depression, because they're not depressed themselves, but make out they're going to kill themselves. They have made self harm into a fashion statement, personality, and a stereotype when it is infact a real, serious matter. Believe me i know, and I'm not an emo, i appear 'normal' and am quite a happy, funny person. (When around people). An emo is no more likely to harm themself, than anyone else is. If they were really so depressed that they would end there life, they wouldn't be in school showing of there choice of clothing that day. And they definitely wouldn't have the mental effort to spend sooo much time on there freakin hair. Hope this helps? Right back
A person who intentionally cuts themselves is often referred to as a self-harmer or someone who engages in self-injury. This behavior is usually a coping mechanism for dealing with emotional pain or distress. It's important for individuals who self-harm to seek professional help to address the underlying issues causing this behavior.
Yes. They want it to because they feel bad about themselves.
No, not all stereotypes are correct. Not all Indians like curry, not all blondes are dumb, not all footballers are wimps who can't handle the pain, not all 'emos' self-harm, and not all chavs go around terrorizing old women.
