- Environmental factors: People who are exposed to more sunlight will naturally have higher levels of melanin in their skin which can contribute to darker skin tones.
Overall while fat people do not necessarily have dark skin there is a correlation between the two due to a variety of factors including genetics cultural factors and environmental factors.
