On a car shape which is already good, which any fuel efficient car will be, the bootlid spoiler will improve the aerodynamics slightly. For instance, the Toyota Soarer/ Lexus SC300/400 has a CD (coefficient of drag) of 0.31 without spoiler (which was optional, at least on Japanese market Soarers) and 0.29 with spoiler fitted. With CD a lower number is better. Many modern cars struggle to get near this CD, despite the Soarer/Lexus SC series being designed way back in 1990.
the back thing of a car is a boot or often know as trunk. Also on top of the trunk is a thing called a spoiler
The spoiler on a 1997 Honda Civic is attached to the trunk. Open the trunk to gain access to the mounting hardware. Loosen the hardware and remove the spoiler.
If you have a spoiler, its in the middle of the spoiler on the trunk lid. Otherwise it should be in the middle of the back window. If you dont have a spoiler, but have a filler panel between the rear speakers at the rear window glass, I suspect someone has removed the spoiler or replaced the original trunk lid with one without a spoiler.
Spoilers are usually bolted in from the inside of the trunk.
In order to add a car spoiler to a car, one must first take accurate measurements of both the spoiler and the location of installment under the trunk. Once space has been verified and the spoiler bought, the wing brackets on the spoiler should be put together and the bolts tightened. Holes should be drilled through the top sheet metal of the trunk and the underside large enough for the spoiler bolts to pass through. The spoiler can then be attached to the trunk, being sure to place the washers before tightening the bolts.
yeah that's were there suposed to go
If you have a spoiler installed then you need a different spring that is stronger for the extra weight of the spoiler. When the dealer installs a spoiler they change out this spring. If you have no spoiler then the spring is adjustable. Move it to the lowest slot.
That would depend on the car. Most cars with trunks would take the spoiler, assuming it's a rear spoiler, on the trunk lid. Make sure you move the trunk insulation and carpet out of the way so that the hardware mounts on the metal or trunk surface. After you have it mounted, remember to check the hardware after a day or so of driving to make sure it hasn't loosened up.
There is a button on back underneath the spoiler.
It is called a spoiler.
Do you have a spoiler? Could be coming from the bolts holding it on.
Spring needs adjusting or you have installed a spoiler. In that case you need a different spring due to the extra weight of the spoiler.
