Why do ghosts try to scare people?

Actually, most don't try to scare people. It is just that they are not used to being ghosts and don't know how to act.

When ghosts are stuck in an area, that is known as haunting.

If ghosts scare people, people know that there is a ghost lurking in the areas; therefore, they are haunted by ghosts, so haunting necessarily doesn't mean possessing someone

.

If ghosts haunt or show themselves by doing certain spooky actions, they have come back to this world either to:

• Finish their unfinished business
• Get revenge
• Help people
• Warn people
• Communicate with people
• Scare people
• Do what they wanted to do when they were living

If you look at ghost videos, most of them are trying to freak people out. Just like in Horror movies, things happen the way they are not supposed to (and I don't mean accidents like spilling your milk on the floor) If those videos were actually real, they would be spreading across the nation and ghost detectors are going to break into their houses. If you are freaked out about ghosts (so am I, after playing a scary game, and that never leaves my head) they are mostly haunting in day times, not night times, and they definitely hate being around other ghosts. Most think that ghosts are scary, but don't get freaked out, because they are just doing what dead bodies do to finish their job.

Not everything that people believe about ghosts is credible. If they are attracted to things like mirrors or shiny things, it could be that they are trying to find the way out. People associate ghosts with darkness, but why would they go there? Most living people don't like such places, so why should anyone else? Now other stereotypical ghost hangouts make sense. Ghosts might hang around their bodies, where they died, or around places they enjoyed. There might be ghosts in places like bars since, if you are lonely, confused, and stuck on Earth without a body, then it makes sense to want to be around people and take your mind off of things.
