The 2001 Chevy Blazer does have an ignition security system that is controlled by the computer in the vehicle. The light might come on because of an error that is coming up in the computer due to a key problem or an ignition problem. This is a common issue with the 2000 and 2001 Blazer.
Probably a faulty ignition switch. learn more at www.trailvoy.com Trailblazer enthusiasts website.

To remove the key from the ignition of a 2000 Chevy Geo Metro, ensure the vehicle is in "Park" mode and the ignition is turned off. If the key is stuck, try gently wiggling it while turning the steering wheel to relieve any tension on the ignition lock. If the key still won't come out, check for any accessories that may still be on, as this can prevent the key from being removed. If issues persist, consult the owner's manual or seek professional assistance.
The 2002 Chevy Silverado does not come with a traditional locking steering wheel feature as part of its ignition system. Instead, it has a column-mounted ignition lock that engages when the key is removed, preventing the steering wheel from turning if the key is not in the ignition. However, this is not the same as a dedicated locking mechanism found in some other vehicles. Always refer to the owner's manual for specific details about your vehicle's features.
the car will not start buy the key but all the electoroics come on in the car but if you cross the post on the starter it will run for a minute and die
Well sometimes the radio is hooked up to the ignition itself. It is just the ignition wire, if it has a disconnecting face plate then you can turn it off by taking the face plate off. Or if you would like, you can pull the radio out and disconnect the wire from the ignition and it will not still be on when you cut the truck off.
Look at the wiring bundle that feeds the headlights. The wires will eventually break because of the constant up & down flexing of the wire bundle (motorized hidden headlamps). The problem will likely be found within inches of where the bundle is secured to the inside of the popup headlight carrier (where the flexing would be concentrated).
Had my headlamps replaced but auto running lights dont come on now..figures it might be a fuse?
