the thoughts ideas and concepts of hinduis in well attached to India and its georgraphy. even though not completely true, a statement 'the backbone of Hinduism is Ramayana and Mahabharata' does make sense. and also, the epics have vivid descriptions of their events in the sands of india. for instance maabharata yudha occured in kurukshetra. rama ruled ayohya. which are the places we know, and are in india. without mentioning these places, no character in the epic can make it complete.
with the same token, hinduism, and eventually indians have the culture of worshipping their environment and animals around them. for hindus, cows, snakes etc are sacred. also many trees. the reason being, for every indian god or goddess there is a plant tree or animal is attached. like, cow for lord krishna, rat for ganesha, ox for shiva etc..with this reason, a true 'bhakta' loves and respects his nature and environment too.
Hinduism has seven basic gods.
They are,
1. Indra - god of dreaming
2. Shakti - god of illusion
3. Brahma - god of creativity
4. Vishnu - god of stability
5. Shiva - god of determination
6. Shani - god of status increase
7. Yama - god of compulsion.
The seven gods are nothing but the seven centers of gravity of our skeletal muscular system / Purusha / Brahman. Higher the center of gravity greater would be facilitation of action. Thus, the seven Hindu gods would enable him to convert a dream into action and an action into a dream, in a precisely controlled way.
Since Hinduism doesn't have a code of conduct, the seven gods, which are seven kinds of forces, act as virtual codes of conduct. Unlike a code of conduct these gods give gross freedom, are highly reliable and directly compatible with science.
The seven gods can merge to form the supreme Hindu god Brahman, who gives the best quality of life and makes life absolutely reliable under all conditions.
