The ignition switch is probably bad. One of the contacts is not making contact in the run position.
The other possibility is a wiring problem to or from the ignition switch. It is almost always at a connection with electrical problems in vehicles. The wires themselves remain intact unless something rubs through the harnesses. If the switch is not the problem, you will need a good wiring diagram to trace connectors and wires to locate the problem along with a voltmeter or DVM (digital multimeter). These can be bought from $10-50 for a decent one. You can pay $200 or more for a professional DVM.
If you are referring to the blue temp light on the dash, it stays on until the engine has reached operating temperature. This lets you know the heat will be ineffective and the engine will not be running at peak efficiency during this time.
If it is a bad leak it will keep it fron idleing. While the engine is running you can spray some carb cleaner over the vacuum lines including intake gaskets when the engine changes sound or dies you have found the leak.
The starter needs power to crank the engine to get it running. Once the engine is running however, the alternator generates enough power to keep it running. But with no reserved power (a battery) the car cannot turn over.
No, the engine will turn over it just will not start because it will be getting no fuel as the pump is not running.
Water around the outsides of the spark plug may keep the car from running due to poor spark plug wires, but the engine should still turn over.
To keep the car engine from over heating
your "glowplugs"are worn or the "wire connected to them is lose or worn!!!!!!!
Could be running backwards....reverse the leads and see if it stays cool running the opposite direction.
better check over the fuel system carefully. doesn't sound like it's getting gas.
Could be something with the head/heads
The alternator is run by a belt connected to the engine. When the engine is running the alternator is turning. The alternator is what produces the electrical current that charges the battery & powers everything electrical while the engine is running. the battery is mainly to start the engine.
your coil pack sits on top of your engine. if you keep your vehicles key in the on position you will fry your coil pack if your engine is not running, for best results use only your "ACC." postition. and yes this can make your engine not start.
